Udyam Registration

In today's competitive business landscape, it is crucial for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to leverage government initiatives that simplify operations, provide formal recognition, and unlock various benefits. Udyam Registration, formerly known as Udyog Aadhaar Registration, is an initiative introduced by the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises to support the growth and development of MSMEs across India.

Introduced on 1st July 2020, Udyam Registration replaced the earlier Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum (UAM) system while introducing revised classification criteria based on investment and annual turnover.

LegallensIndia simplifies the Udyam Registration process by helping businesses obtain their Udyam Registration Number and Udyam Certificate quickly and efficiently.

What is Udyam Registration?

Udyam Registration is the official registration process introduced by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, for registering Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises.

The registration process classifies enterprises based on their investment and annual turnover. Upon successful registration, the enterprise receives a permanent Udyam Registration Number along with an electronic Udyam Registration Certificate.

The registration process is completely online and based on self-declaration, making it simple for entrepreneurs to access various government schemes and MSME benefits.

Benefits of Udyam Registration

Businesses registered under the Udyam Registration portal enjoy several financial and operational advantages provided by the Government of India.

  • Preference in Government Tenders: Registered MSMEs receive special preference during government procurement processes.
  • Collateral-Free Loans: Easier access to bank loans without providing collateral or security.
  • Interest Rate Concession: Eligible for a 1% concession on bank overdraft facilities.
  • Tax Benefits: Eligible for various tax rebates and government incentives.

  • Tariff & Capital Subsidies: Eligible for electricity tariff subsidies, tax subsidies, and capital subsidies.
